Doubts in South Korea after allegations of wreckage found «treasure ship»

    2018/07/20 11:23

(Encyclopedia of this Day News | Iraq News ) - through experts in Seoul expressed doubts as announced by the South Korean company they found the wreckage of a Russian warship inside the "treasure" of gold equivalent to $ 130 billion off the country 's coast.

Chinell Group, founded last month, said on Tuesday it had found the wreckage of Dimitri Donskoy, a Russian armored warship built in the 1880s and sunk in 1905 after battling Japanese warships.

The company said the ship had 150 trillion won ($ 130 billion) gold and would provide evidence supporting what it said next week.

She said in a statement that she was "the only party in the world" that discovered the ship.

The statement was accompanied by photographs and a video clip of debris, including a section that appeared to show the ship's name.

The company said the research team included experts from Britain, Canada and South Korea.

"We believe there are gold boxes," said Pak Song-jin, a spokesman for the company.

But the announcement was questioned by the Korea-run Korea Institute for Ocean Science and Technology, which told South Korean media that the debris was found in 2003.

The institute did not respond to a request for comment, but its Web site displays photographs dating back to 2007 that say they are shipwrecks and maps of the place in general.

South Korean media reported that a South Korean construction company also spoke of being the first to discover the Russian warship.

Academics have questioned previous reports of a huge treasure in the ship, and South Korean financial observers have warned against investing in treasure hunting.
