    Follow-Up

The Iraqi Women's Association rejected the policy of repression and narrowing the freedoms faced by the government youth demonstrations, and demanded the government and the security services to detect those involved in provoking violence and accountability.

The organization said in a press statement: "The youth demonstrations were characterized by spontaneity and expressed the anger of the Iraqi citizen to the poor handling of government and deliberate negligence in following the demands of the mass that has been diagnosed daily suffering, and came out to demand real and urgent solutions to the problem of electricity and other services that are in direct contact with the life of the individual Iraqi, which is lacking all the ingredients of a decent life. "

"The demonstrations were met with a violent repressive reaction and a policy of intimidation, threats and detention, which killed dozens of young martyrs who could no longer remain silent in the face of inhumane abuses and the corrupt policy of corruptists and the continued cover-up of those who loot people's money," it said in a statement.

And called on the government and security services to investigate the facts and hold those involved in the use of violence against the demonstrators, as well as those who caused the demonstrations. It also called on civil activists, academics, journalists, professionals and trade unionists to contribute to supporting the protest movement and preserving its peaceful identity and the demands of the Jamahiriya in providing services, achieving social justice and decent living for all citizens, naming the corrupt and prosecuting them and ensuring the building of a government of national partnership. The citizen saves the country from crises.
