Thousands of protesters, on Friday, not to corruption and to the exit of Iran, in their demonstrations in Baghdad and major cities to denounce corruption again and their presence against the backdrop of a political crisis.

Demonstrators described the leaders as "thieves" and "corrupt" in Tahrir Square amid a security deployment of riot police armed with electric batons.

In Basra, where protests began, hundreds of thousands gathered in front of the provincial headquarters.

"We will pretend to demand the most basic rights, water and electricity, because our situation has reached an unspeakably tragic level," the protesters said.

Protesters held banners in Nasiriyah, saying "No to corruption and yes to change" and other demonstrations were held in Najaf and Maysan provinces south of Baghdad.
