The Australian government has announced the arrest of 600 smugglers five years ago

Australian Interior Minister Peter Dutton said more than 600 smugglers had been arrested for five years trying to bring thousands of people to Australia, insisting his government's tough policy of dealing with asylum seekers and detaining those trying to enter through smuggling or illegal routes.
"More than 600 smugglers have been arrested trying to bring thousands of people into Australia since the entry into force of the strict border regime in 2013," Dutton said.
The Australian federal government says that "the process of border rule, which began in 2013 led to the arrest of 600 people from smugglers," pointing to the arrest of 2500 people, with the return of 33 boats smuggling within the same security operation.
Dutton renewed his warnings from "trying to jump across boats and come to Australia."
The Australian government launched a border security operation led by the military, known as the "border sovereignty process" in 2013, aimed at combating the smuggling of people across the sea and protect the borders of Australia, while confirming the continuation of its strict policy on this matter.
