A judicial source on Friday expected to respond to the lawsuit filed by activists in the province of Muthanna against some officials, led by Prime Minister Haider Abadi on the backdrop of "preventing the establishment of demonstrations."

The source told Ashqaf News that "the civil activist in the name of Khashan Khazal filed a lawsuit before the Court of Investigation of Samawa of the Court of Appeal Muthanna to each of the Prime Minister Haider Abadi, Muthanna governor Faleh Abdul Hassan, police chief Sami Saud and commander of operations Rafidain."

He added that "the prosecutor asked to take legal action against these officials and according to the list of his complaint caused damage to the demonstrators because of exposure to the heat of the sun."

The judicial source explained that "the list of the lawsuit included a lot of errors in formality, and that the establishment before the Court of Inquiry is incorrect and therefore the lawsuit is doomed to reply in terms of jurisdiction as such cases to be held before another judicial body."

The central and southern governorates of Iraq are witnessing widespread protests against the deterioration of the service and living conditions, the spread of financial and administrative corruption and the high rate of unemployment within the society, prompting the government to take a series of urgent measures to meet the demands of demonstrators.
