    Former Iraqi Vice President Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri addressed the Iraqi people and the army on August 8, marking the 30th anniversary of the end of the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s, which lasted more than eight years.
    Al-Douri said in his speech that the uprising against Iran and the fascists is the path of salvation, pointing to what he called "the uprising of our people in the south, the Middle Euphrates and Baghdad," according to the agency "yesiraq."
    "They are the sons of the officers and soldiers of the Qadisiyah Army stand bravely against the Iranian invasion, stressing that Iraq was a shield to protect the Arabs and the world from the evils of Iran, but now what is happening is the destruction of the Iraqi dam."
    "Thirty years after this glorious battle, we say to those who were Arab or Muslim brothers that the leadership of Iraq exaggerates the portrayal of the Iranian threat to Arabs and Muslims and the need to confront it with all strength, solidarity and firmness," he said.     He added that "Iran has underestimated the security and stability of its Arab and Islamic neighbors. He pointed out that the American administration has carried out, and has suspended, Israel's plan to besiege, isolate and militarily and economically destroy Iraq, leading to its invasion and occupation and the destruction of its strong modern civilian state through the largest colonial war campaign against a country the size of Iraq in history ".
