The Central Bank of Iraq (CBE) said on Monday that it is the supervisory body responsible for monitoring the financial activities of banks. "The Central Bank is the supervisory body responsible for monitoring the activities and activities of the financial and banking institutions in the country and it is subject to its control and instructions issued by it," the bank's spokesman said in a statement received by Al-Sabah. He denied, according to the statement, "what has been circulated by some local media during the past two days of news related to the issuance of lists to monitor Iraqi banks, claiming that these banks may be subject to sanctions from outside parties in an attempt to create confusion in the market and the exchange rate.[/rtl]

BAGHDAD, Aug 13 (KUNA) - The Council of Ministers set the Eid al-Adha holiday on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, until Sunday 26 of the same month.
The Cabinet said in a statement that the official working hours will resume on Monday, August 27.
It is noteworthy that the Council of Ministers held on Monday its regular session chaired by the President of the Council Haider Abadi.[/ltr]
