{International: Al Furat News} Saudi Arabia has made a $ 100 million contribution to the International Coalition to counter terrorist schemes in liberated areas of northeastern Syria.
It is also the largest contribution to date by the Alliance in favor of these liberated areas. It is also an extension of Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir's promise at the International Coalition Ministerial Conference held in Brussels on July 12, 2018, hosted by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
The aim of this contribution is to support the Alliance's efforts to re-energize local communities such as the city of Raqqa, which has been devastated by intimidating terrorists and will focus on livelihood and basic rehabilitation projects in the areas of health, agriculture, electricity, water, education, transport (major roads and bridges) .
In line with Saudi Arabia's contributions so far, this additional $ 100 million will save lives, help facilitate the return of displaced Syrians, ensure no return to threaten Syria or its neighbors, or plan attacks against the international community, .
This contribution also represents an extension of the Kingdom's efforts in the international coalition, such as participating in the leadership of the working group on combating finance, serving as a key member of the communication and stabilization working groups and others.
The United States welcomed Saudi Arabia's contribution. "This important contribution is necessary to restore stability and early recovery efforts at an important time in the campaign," the State Department said in a statement.
She added that the land controlled by Dahed shrunk to a thousand square kilometers in Syria and that about 150 thousand people returned to the city of Al-Rigga after he escaped from them.
While the US State Department welcomed Riyadh's contribution, it called on American partners and allies to "take their share in this effort that will help bring greater stability and security to the region."
