    Philippine President Rodrigo Duterti warned Beijing of a regional multilateral war against border disputes and what he called "unilateral actions by Beijing in the South China Sea."
    "The Philippines is monitoring the movement of Chinese ships in the region via satellite, and Beijing should stop the unilateral exploration of natural resources in the sea water and its disputed islands," Duterti told reporters on Friday.
    China, the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia and Vietnam have long argued for sovereignty over the maritime zone, which is a vital route for shipping, and also contains large oil and gas reserves.
