Deputy Interior Minister Mustapha al-Arasan announced on Monday that Interior Minister Qassim al-Araji arrived at Arar border post with Saudi Arabia to discuss the security situation and preparations for receiving convoys of pilgrims returning from the Holy Land.
Mustafa al-Urasan told Basnews correspondent that "Interior Minister Qassim al-Araji
Arrived at the port Arar to see the security situation and to determine the security and service preparations to receive convoys of pilgrims returning from the Holy Land after the end of the pilgrimage season.
Adding that "the security forces have finished all preparations to protect the international road and all other roads linking Anbar with neighboring provinces, including Karbala, Baghdad and Najaf to secure the convoys of pilgrims returning to their homes."
The Interior Minister said that "the Minister of Interior briefed on the reality of the services provided to pilgrims in Arar port, stressing that all convoys are escorted by security patrols and providing medical and therapeutic services to patients in case of need."
