    A security source in the Directorate of South Oil Police, on Sunday, that the force of the Directorate seized nine tankers loaded with oil derivatives stolen from a pipe carrier and arrested its drivers in an area north of Basra. 

    The source said in an interview with Alsumaria News that "a security force of the Directorate of the South Oil Police carried out hours before a security operation in an area north of Basra, resulted in the seizure of nine tanks loaded with oil derivatives stolen from a pipeline connected to the field Ahdab."

    The source, who asked not to be named, that "the force seized the tanks and arrested the drivers." 

    The theft of crude oil and the smuggling of fuel by land and sea was a common feature in Basra before 2010, and then receded significantly in the past few years, especially after the increase in fuel prices and tighten security around facilities and oil pipelines, in addition to strengthening security control of channels Navigation.
