He pointed to the existence of technical discussions with the Kuwaiti side to activate the issue of linking (ac) in the near term to the import of energy through the province of Basra, in addition to negotiations with them to connect through the system (dc) in the long term to link the Gulf countries with the European Union through Turkey, revealing the existence of preliminary talks are underway with Saudi Arabia to begin the joint link. On the bilateral linkage with the Iranian side and the ministry's position on the US sanctions against Iran, the Undersecretary of the Ministry confirmed that there is an agreement between the two sides to import energy by (1200) MW, but this summer three of the four lines were extinguished by the Iranian side.
