    The Department of Investigation in the Integrity Commission has been able to thwart an attempt to smuggling and illegal trafficking in oil derivatives in the capital Baghdad, confirming that it was able to arrest nine accused of the criminal offense.
    The Department said in a statement to Asharq Al-Awsat that the owners of the Baghdad Directorate were able to thwart an attempt to trade and smuggle oil derivatives, noting that eight drivers and an accountant were arrested in a garage in Al-Jihad neighborhood, Combating the smuggling of oil derivatives for smuggling and trading these materials.
    The control, carried out by the Directorate's staffs, led to the seizure of a set of stationary tanks containing gas and gasoline, a group of load vehicles loaded with oil derivatives and others that were loading.
    The minutes of the investigation were ordered by the investigating judge, who ordered the arrest of the accused in the investigation, and issued a warrant of arrest against the owner of the garage.
