Legal expert: The Baghdad Council does not have the power to cancel the Saturday holiday

Tariq Harb, the legal expert, said [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/11062/%D9%85%D8%AC%D9%84%D8%B3 %D8%A8%D8%BA%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%AF]the Baghdad council[/url] had no authority to cancel Saturday's holiday for schools or other government departments. Harb said in a press statement: "The holiday on Saturday, was decided by law and can be canceled only by issuing a law also, and this law must be issued by the Iraqi Council exclusively."
The legal expert said: "The mobility [url=https://www.thebaghdadpost.com/ar/Story/t/11062/%D9%85%D8%AC%D9%84%D8%B3 %D8%A8%D8%BA%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%AF]of the Baghdad Council[/url] is illegal and unconstitutional and can not be applied even if voted on the resolution, it does not have any authority to cancel or even declare a holiday, and this includes all provincial councils, and not only Baghdad.
