Hayley: Iran deals with Iraq as if it is not an independent state
Independent) The Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations, Ambassador Nikki Hailey, presided over the Security Council as the President of the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East.
"For nearly 40 years, the Iranian regime has been outside the country's law-abiding swarm," Hayley said. Noting that "it is difficult to mention any conflict in the Middle East does not bear the hallmarks of Iran."
She noted that Iran supported what it described as "dictators who throw gas bombs at their people," referring to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Accusing the Iranian regime of "provoking conflicts, financing foreign fighters and terrorists, transferring missiles to insurgents and working against the interests and policies of the Security Council over and over."
"Iran has trampled on the sovereignty of its neighbors across the Middle East.In Lebanon, Syria and Yemen. The Iranian regime has shown total disregard for the sovereignty of a country at a critical stage of its political development, Iraq. "
"Iran is dealing with Iraq as if it is not an independent state. Iran considers Iraq to be a transit point for Iranian weapons and a training area for Iranian proxies. And seeks to keep Iraq economically weak and dependent on its exports, although Iraq has a lot of its own resources.
Iran has been accused of "wanting to use a weak Iraq to finance its terrorist activities illegally". "There is another Iranian escalation that happened recently and has special implications for the Americans."
It said the use of proxy forces in Iraq "did not give the Iranian regime the possibility of reasonable denial when similar attacks occur."
Trump's administration "is not convinced and will not be satisfied," she said. Noting that Iran was "able to put an end to attacks by its agents. Did not choose that, so the White House responded with a firm notice to Tehran. "
Hayley blamed the Iranian government for "taking full responsibility for the attacks of its agents on American facilities and US personnel in Iraq," threatening to say "we will not hesitate to defend strongly the lives of Americans."
