US Secretary of Defense: Iran's threats do not worry us

US Defense Secretary James Matisse on Monday shrugged off Iran's threats to retaliate against those responsible for a bloody attack on a military parade in southwestern Iran on Saturday.
Matisse told reporters at the US Defense Department that it was "ridiculous" that Tehran claimed US involvement in the attack, which left 24 dead and more than 60 injured in the city of Ahwaz in Khuzestan province.
Asked whether Iran's threats had raised any concern for him, Matisse said he did not care about them. "We were absolutely clear that they should not push us to get dragged into it. I hope that the minds will be quieter and more wise and prevail in Tehran. "
"The Ahwaz attack exposed the dark face" of the alliance formed by the United States, Saudi Arabia and Israel, he said, to counter Iranian influence in the region.
Salami said on Monday that US and Israeli leaders should expect a "devastating" Iranian response.
The "Da'ash" organization claimed responsibility for the attack, while the Iranian authorities are likely to assume the involvement of Arab separatists in Khuzestan province in the attack, in favor of the United States and Israel and their "allies" in the Gulf states.
