China condemns US provocations in South China Sea

China called on the United States to stop provocative actions that violate its sovereignty and pose a threat to its security, against the backdrop of the entry of a devastating US water into the Chinese South China Sea.
"The US repeatedly sends unauthorized military ships to waters close to the South China Sea islands, seriously threatening China's sovereignty and security, undermining China-US military relations and seriously damaging peace and stability," Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chunying said in a statement. In the region. "
"Washington does not pay any attention to the common aspirations of the countries of the region, and once again resort to provocative actions under the pretext of free navigation, violate international standards and threaten China's sovereignty," the spokesman said.
He noted that the Chinese Ministry of Defense sent a ship to warn the American ship to leave the region, stressing that Beijing "will take all necessary measures to protect its national sovereignty and security."
Earlier, the US Pacific Fleet announced that a Chinese warship was approaching a "dangerous" distance from the USS Decatur destroyer near disputed islands in the South China Sea, forcing the destroyer to change course.
In the last two years, the region has seen a series of similar incidents involving US warships sent by Washington to carry out patrols in the South China Sea near the disputed islands, which China considers Chinese islands.
