A report by the Washington Inquirer newspaper that Prime Minister-designate Adel Abdul-Mahdi represents the compromise candidate between the two blocs of Fatah and Sultoun, while stressing that the United States should not seek to drag Iraq into the arena of confrontation against neighboring Iran.
"Prime Minister-designate Adel Abdul-Mahdi represents a relatively safe bet, because he is not in any camp, and the Fatah is more temperate and stronger than his predecessors. He has more political support than the outgoing prime minister," the report said. His mandate is Haider al-Abbadi. "
"Abdul-Mahdi may offer Iraq at least a chance to undertake some serious reforms, follow up some anti-corruption reforms, improve public services and strengthen security gains against Dahesh," the report said.
"It is also positive that Abdul Mahdi has already made efforts to work with minorities in Iraq and to reduce the impact of sectarianism in Baghdad," the report said.
The report called on the United States to abandon its policy of uncertainty and not to drag Iraq into confrontation with Iran, calling for "the United States to extend a hand of cooperation to Adel Abdul Mahdi during his term of office." Ending / 25 z
