Deputy: Communist Party demands its electoral entitlement and may withdraw from others

"The Iraqi Communist Party, one of the members of the Sason Alliance, has expressed its displeasure with the lack of participation in the new government," MP Mohamed Elkashash said Monday.
"The (Communist) may withdraw from the others, because he wants to get a ministry commensurate with the eligibility of the election," said Al-Wakash in an interview.
He pointed out that "there is a clear pressure on the Prime Minister-designate Adel Abdul-Mahdi, and it seems that the parties do not want to give up the method of partisan quotas in the administration of the state."
"We may see a government that is no different from the previous Iraqi governments because of the total freedom of Abdul Mahdi in choosing his cabinet," he said. "He will have difficulty opening corruption files involving many Iraqi parties. And even the file of arms inventory by the state, will be difficult for him, in addition to addressing the slack in many institutions and ministries. "
