The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said at a recent meeting that the trade war announced by US President Donald Trump would hit the world economy with losses of $ 1.52 trillion and the United States would be affected in the long term.
The World Bank estimated the worst-case scenarios for this war, with the global market shrinking by 17%, and global GDP falling by 1.9%.
The global economy is therefore more vulnerable to economic setbacks than in 2008-2009, according to the Spanish daily ABC.
IMF experts said that the international economy was not significantly affected by Trump's management and that international trade would face the biggest challenges in 2019.
Global trade growth is expected to reach 3.9 percent, half a percent lower than last year, This figure should be reduced by 0.2%.
According to IMF experts, if China and America do not end their economic war, the world economy will lose about $ 1.52 trillion, in addition to the unexpected losses from Britain's exit from the EU.
Experts speculate that China will be affected by this war in the near term, but the damage will come back to the United States in the long term because it is linked to retaliatory sanctions from China, and will suffer the most.
