Al-Rai newspaper quoted a source familiar with the Iraqi embassy as saying that "this decision represents one of the obstacles of trade exchange between the two countries," noting that the Ministry of Commerce noted that the Commission's recommendation of the ban did not specify the period during which the embargo applies and the goods covered by it, In which it is reconsidered. "

He added that "trade has alerted that the issuance of the Commission recommendations in isolation from the ministry negatively affect the local market in terms of stability and availability of goods and the stability of prices," calling for "the need to coordinate with them in the issuance of such recommendations as the decisions of the embargo inherent competence of the Ministry of Commerce in accordance with Law No. 43 Of 1964 on importation ". 

On September 2, Kuwait announced the ban on importing and banning foodstuffs from Iraq, as well as preventing Iraqi travelers from entering Kuwait as a precautionary measure because of the spread of cholera in Iraq.
