Direct : The US dollar rose against major currencies during trading on Thursday, after the disclosure of the minutes of the Federal Reserve Bank which showed support for the increased interest rate.
The Fed said in its minutes of its last meeting yesterday that in light of economic growth, strong labor market conditions and keeping inflation near its target, it supports the gradual increase in interest rates.
At its last meeting, the US central bank decided to increase interest rates at a level of 2% to 2.25%.
By 0655 GMT, the greenback was up against the euro by 0.1% at $ 1.1485, while falling against the yen at 112.50 yen was down 0.1%.
The greenback was up 0.3% at $ 1.3082, while the Swiss franc was flat at 0.9955 francs.
The main dollar index, which measures the performance of the currency against 6 major currencies, rose by 0.2% to 95.726.
The Fed's support for monetary tightening comes amid opposition from US President Donald Trump to the central bank's policies.
Over the past week, Trump has been critical of the Fed in several positions, saying he does not like the bank's monetary tightening and has said it is the biggest threat to him and his policies are crazy.
US Jobless Claims and the Philadelphia Industrial Production Index will be released later in the day.
