    President Barham Salih on Sunday called on Korean companies to contribute to the reconstruction of Iraq. 
    The President of the Republic said in a statement received by "Economy News" a copy, "The President of the Republic Barham Saleh received today, at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Iraq Song Wong Yup." 
    "Ambassador Yub conveyed the congratulations of the President of Korea, Mon Jai, to Saleh on the occasion of assuming the post of President of the Republic." 
    President Saleh stressed the importance of relations between Iraq and Korea, stressing "the need to strengthen them in all fields, especially trade, economic and academic exchanges." 
    The Korean president praised "Korean support for Iraq in its fight against terrorism and its participation in the rehabilitation of basic infrastructure," calling on Korean companies to "contribute to the reconstruction of Iraq."
    For his part, Ambassador Song Wong-yup reiterated his country's support for "Iraq and its desire to expand bilateral cooperation frameworks in all fields."
