After accusations of fraud .. recount votes in the US congressional elections
Florida authorities have ordered a recount of votes in the senator and state governor, amid accusations among candidates of fraud.
State Secretary of State Kenneth Dietzner issued an official order to recount votes after the deadline for the announcement of provisional results, according to state law, which provides for automatic recount if the difference between the contenders is less than 0.5 points.Dietzner said in a statement that the results of the recount would be expected on November 15.
In the state governor's election, the latest unofficial results published on Florida's Web site showed Republican Rep. Ron Desants was ahead of Democrat Andrew Guillum by 33,684 votes, or 0.41 points.
The vote-counting process, which includes dozens of groups and reaches large numbers by e-mail, takes a long time in the United States, because every vote is important if the difference between the candidates is as small as in Florida.
