Two Israeli ministers resign over truce in Gaza

The Israeli Minister of Immigration and Integration, Yisrael Beiteinu, Sofa Landver, submitted her resignation, hours after the resignation of Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman on the backdrop of the truce in the Gaza Strip.
A spokeswoman for the Israeli Ministry of Integration, Ludmila Lagos, said on Wednesday that the Israeli Minister of Integration Sofa Landver, resigned. Hours after the resignation of Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman.
The spokeswoman added that the faction of the Yisrael Beiteinu party in the Knesset supports its president by leaving the ruling coalition and joining the opposition. The letter of resignation will enter into force within 48 hours.
She has been Minister of Integration for more than nine years, launching several programs and projects aimed at improving the lives of families.
Avigdor Lieberman resigned because of his disagreement with the cease-fire in the Gaza Strip. He called for a "decisive blow" to the Hamas rule in the Gaza Strip.
Lieberman announced that the party "Israel Our Home" will emerge from the ruling parliamentary coalition. He also said that early parliamentary elections should be held as soon as possible.
Israel and the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip reached an agreement on an immediate cease-fire on Tuesday through Egyptian mediation.
The latest round of security escalation broke out last Sunday after an incursion by an Israeli special unit east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip followed by clashes with Hamas fighters that killed an Israeli officer and seven Palestinians, one of them a senior member of the al-Qassam Brigades.
