The European Union has suffered a severe economic blow, with Trump's decision to reinstate US sanctions on Iran , the National Interest reported .
The European Union's campaign to protect Iran from sanctions has failed, noting that the largest European companies have been forced to withdraw from their investments in Iran because they have much to lose if they decide to withdraw from the US market and stay with Iran .
The strength of the market forces these companies not to give up their economic interests resulting from staying in European markets, but these companies are putting pressure on the European Union; to protect them from the "economic imperialism" imposed by the United States, which is a danger On the European economy .
The European allies played an important role in tightening the sanctions imposed on Iran in 2012 and 2013, and are a major channel in imposing the same force on Tehran at present, especially as the EU is Iran's second largest partner after China, Iranian source .
