The Ministry of Commerce announced on Thursday work to increase the financial allocations for ration card to be sufficient for a full year.

The ministry said in a statement that "the Ministry of Commerce is working through the Council of Ministers and the Economic Committee to increase the financial allocations for the ration card to suffice for a full year."

"The last four years have been distributing the ration for only six months," the ministry said, adding that "the Minister of Commerce will provide the project of launching the equipment over a year and this first step and increase the allocations of poor families is the second step."

The ministry pointed out that "distribution of the ration for six months has nothing to do with corruption, but the lack of allocations of funds for the ration card by the budget."
