Washington warns European banks against dealing with Iran: We will apply sanctions firmly
Iran's private representative to Iran, Brian Hawk, warned on Thursday that European banks and companies involved in a European Union trade protection initiative with Iran would be at risk of renewed US sanctions on Iran.
"European banks and European companies realize that we will applysanctions firmly to this barbaric and violent regime, " Hawk said in a telephone briefing .
"A large European company will always choose the US market from the Iranian market."
