Iran's ambassador to Iraq, Erj Masjedi, disclosed on Sunday the number of Iranian companies operating in Iraq, and noted the presence of efforts to cancel visas between the two countries, announced the agreement with Iraq to establish a permanent exhibition of Iranian goods in Baghdad.

"The Iraqi government is seeking to attract foreign investment to implement 1,200 projects worth 100 billion dollars," Masjedi said, adding that "79 Iranian companies are working in Iraq to build power plants, refineries, hotels, stadiums and homes worth 8 billion dollars."
"We have agreed with Iraq to establish a permanent exhibition of Iranian goods in Baghdad and the ground is ready after defeating a supporter in Iraq for more economic activities in this country," Masjedi said, calling on Iranian companies to "further investment in projects that the Iraqi government seeks to attract foreign investment To complete them. "

"Iraq needs electricity, foodstuffs and industrial materials, and if its exports are stopped, the Iraqi government and people will face many problems," Masjedi said. "These problems are not limited to Iran alone."

"Given the problems created by the US in the exchange of banking across the dollar, the joint proposal is to take advantage of the Iraqi dinar or export and imports in a barter," Masjedi said.

"We are seeking to cancel the visas between the two countries and the cancellation of visas was discussed for traders and businessmen during the visit of the Iraqi president to Tehran, " he said.

Iranian President Hassan Rowhani announced on Saturday (November 7, 2018) during the visit of Iraqi President Barham Salih to Iran, that Tehran seeks to raise the volume of trade with Iraq to 20 billion dollars annually.
