The Department of Investigation of the Integrity Commission revealed on Wednesday that the Criminal Court for the consideration of cases of integrity in Baghdad sentenced in absentia to seven years' imprisonment against the Director of State Property in the former Salahaddin province for causing deliberate damage to the funds of the entity in which he worked.
The department confirmed in a statement that the convicted man manipulated a land parcel and registered it with citizens on the basis of forged books issued to the State Real Estate Department, explaining that the plot was an archaeological area contracted by a citizen under an official contract with Saladin Agriculture Directorate till 2009.
"The court, after reviewing the testimony of the legal representative of the real estate registration department, stated that the defendant had sorted the piece in violation of the instructions, in addition to the minutes of the investigative committee which proved the accused's copyist and transmitted it to the Integrity Commission. According to the provisions of Article 340 of the Penal Code.
"The decision issued last month included issuing an arrest warrant against the convicted person and carrying out a fundamental search for him, while supporting the seizure of his movable and immovable property, in addition to keeping the injured party in the right to seek compensation before the civil courts. s
