    - The US House of Representatives, Adam Schiff, said that the intelligence committee of the Council intends to investigate with President Donald Trump, because of his relations with Saudi Arabia and his defense of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, on the issue of the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. "The Democrats, when they receive the majority of the House of Representatives next year, will investigate with Trump because of his relations with Saudi Arabia," the Washington Post said on Friday.
"Trump's accountability will be due to his statements about Khashoggi's death, which has been very confused, and about the nature of US-Saudi relations," Schiff said.
"Investigations will also include the US intelligence assessment of Khashoggi's death, the war in Yemen, the stability of the royal family in Saudi Arabia, and the treatment of dissidents and the press by the kingdom."
Schiff is due to head the House Intelligence Committee in January as the Democratic Party's top Democrat.
"Certainly we will investigate in a more thorough way in the case of the death of Khashoggi, and we will try to get all the information that the US intelligence about that crime."
"We will also try to investigate Trump's private financial relations with the Saudis, which could in turn have affected his reaction as president of America," he said.
"We think that there is a conflict of big potential financial interests, and Congress will need to get all the records, and see whether foreign investments are directing US policy in a way that runs counter to the interests of the country or not," Schiff said.
"Members of Congress have the feeling that Trump deliberately misleads the US intelligence services to protect the crown prince, and if so, how he has the nerve to do so," he said.
"The world may have to be held accountable because the world is a bad place," Trump was quoted as saying during his stay at his Mar Lago ranch in Florida, where he and his family are to be held accountable for who should be held accountable for Khashoggi's death.
"The CIA has not reached a conclusion on whether the Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, ordered the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi," he said.
"The United States intends to remain a strong partner for Saudi Arabia, in order to safeguard its interests, the interests of Israel and the rest of Washington's partners in the region," Trump said in a statement published Tuesday by the White House on relations between Washington and Riyadh.
Trump's position, although he said in the same statement, was that "it is very likely that the Saudi Crown Prince (Muhammad bin Salman) was aware of Khashoggi's death."
The kingdom faces a major crisis over Khashoggi's murder, and the Saudi Public Prosecution announced last Thursday that the person who ordered him to be killed was "the head of the negotiating team" without naming him. The body was dismembered by those who killed him (without naming them) Consulate.
