Trump: Washington will withdraw from the Middle East because of oil
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - US President Donald Trump said the Middle East's low oil importance for his country could prompt it to pull out of the region, but added another reason to stay there.
Trump told The Washington Post on Tuesday: "Will we stay in that region? There is one reason for survival is Israel ... Oil as a reason (survival) is diminishing its importance, because our production is now greater than ever. "
"That means we may suddenly get to a point where we will not need to stay there," he said.
