A senior delegation of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan held a meeting with the leader of the stream "national wisdom" Ammar al-Hakim.

The leadership of the National Union has decided on Saturday to send a delegation to Baghdad in order to negotiate the party get a ministry in the current government formation headed by Adel Abdul Mahdi.

Hakim said on Monday that "we discussed during our meeting with the delegation of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the latest political situation and outstanding issues between the federal government and the region."

He pointed to "the need to support the government in the implementation of its program and improve the service reality in the country," calling for "the importance of public interest and stressed the importance of cohesion and accumulation of positive."

The Iraqi parliament voted at the end of last October on 14 ministers from the new government of Adel Abdul Mahdi, while delaying the vote on 8 ministers.

Parliament postponed the vote on the ministries of defense, interior, culture, education, justice, planning, higher education, and immigration due to disagreement over its candidates.
