The mullahs sell Iranian soil to Tamim
Iran's sale of Iranian soil has sparked controversy in Tehran after officials uncovered smuggling of Iranian farmland and pastures to the emirate of Qatar.
According to Iranian media, Ali Murad Akbari, assistant to the Iranian Minister of Agriculture, Director General of the Water and Soil Division of the Environment Organization of Iran, revealed the smuggling of Iranian soil to Arab countries, pointing out that Qatar used to dry water and build industrial islands.
The sale of the land sparked controversy at home, the reformist newspaper Arman commented, and wrote, "At least do not export the dust."
She pointed out that soil smuggling has turned over the past years to one of the challenges in the country.
