    Albania has announced that it has expelled two Iranian diplomats on suspicion of carrying out illegal activities that endanger the security of the country.
    A spokesman for the Albanian foreign ministry said on Wednesday evening that the diplomats had been expelled for "violating their diplomatic status".
    The spokesman added that the decision was made after talks with other countries, including Israel.
    The spokesman did not disclose the names of Iranian diplomats expelled from his country.
    Al-Ghad, a Persian-speaking American television station, quoted a private television network in Albania as saying that diplomats were suspected of illegal activities related to the preparations for the World Cup between Albania and Israel two years ago.
    Around 20 people were arrested after the game, which was threatened with a terrorist attack.
    However, the Albanian authorities did not confirm the report of the television channel.

    More than 2,000 members of the PMOI have been relocated from Iraq after the closure of their camps there.
    In recent months, Tehran's relations with various European capitals have been strained as Iranian diplomats have been accused of involvement in an attempted bombing and assassination against its opponents.
    Both France and Denmark say they have foiled two plots by Iranian diplomats and security men to attack Tehran's opponents in both countries.
    Germany has arrested an Iranian diplomat in the Bavarian state of Austria, Assadullah Asadi, accused of supplying a couple with explosives to attack an assembly of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran in the outskirts of Paris last May.
    Denmark has also arrested a Norwegian citizen of Iranian origin suspected of trying to assassinate members of the Arab struggle to liberate Ahwaz in Denmark.
