[Asharq Al-Awsat] The Iraqi parliament raised its meeting to the new year after the failure to complete the new government and approve the budget of the country for next year.
According to a brief statement to the Presidency of Parliament, the Council raised its board to Tuesday for the next year 2019/1/8.
The House of Representatives voted to nominate Shaima Khalil Ali al-Hayali as Minister of Education Education, and Nawaf Baha Mousa as Minister of Migration and Displaced.
And failed to vote on the Ministers of Defense and Interior because of differences, and called on the Prime Minister to submit a candidate for the Minister of Justice.
Last October, the Iraqi parliament gave confidence to Abdul Mahdi's cabinet with 14 ministers in his cabinet, before three ministers voted last week, leaving three ministries waiting to be given confidence.

Thanks Rocky, this seems very strange - yesterday, they were set to finish the GOI and have the second reading of the budget.  Today, they voted on two more ministers, leaving 3 to be voted on and not a mention about the second reading on the budget.  JUST, recess until Jan 8.  The GOI was already set to close and celebrate the New Year -  Sun - Tues, New Year's Day and with the "weekend" of Friday, holy day, and Sat. the second day of the weekend, that is 5 days the BANKS WILL BE CLOSED and the tariffs start on Jan. 1, 2019 - wondering if we are looking at something happening.  Still is the mystery of why parliament won't reconvene until Jan 8.
