Kuwait Oil Minister Khalid Al-Fadhil said on Tuesday that his country supports all efforts and trends aimed at restoring balance and stability to oil markets, "in a way that will benefit and benefit the producing and consuming countries."
Al-Fadhel told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Kuwait's commitment to its commitments under the new agreement reached between the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the major producers outside it, including Russia, in the Austrian capital of Vienna in December. About 1.2 million barrels per day, for 6 months, starting early next year.
"Kuwait will fully comply with its share of the agreed reductions of about 3 percent," Al-Fadhel said, anticipating an improvement in the oil market, in line with the new agreement, as world demand grows next year.
"I think the oil markets are better off today than they were two or three years ago, thanks to the unprecedented cooperation between the oil producing countries over the past two years. The high commitment to the cuts led to the withdrawal of the surplus in global oil stocks."
He pointed out that Kuwait, during the past two years, played a positive and constructive role in supporting the historic production reduction agreement between OPEC and major producers from outside, which was reached by the end of 2016 and to reduce production by 1.8 million barrels per day.
OPEC members will cut production by 800,000 barrels per day (bpd), while other non-OPEC countries will commit to reducing the remaining amount, as agreed.

Kuwait's newly appointed oil minister, Khalid al-Fadil, said Tuesday that his country supports all efforts to stabilize oil markets.
Kuwait is "committed to the OPEC agreements signed earlier this month with non-member countries, which include a reduction of production of about 1.2 million barrels per day for six months starting in January," he told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Oil prices hit their lowest level since the third quarter of 2017 as buyers shy away from the market ahead of the holiday season over the next two weeks, due to the global supply glut. Finished
