after a surprise visit to "Ein al - Assad" base west of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, headed by US President Donald Trump , accompanied by his wife , Melania Trump, to "Ramstein" US Air Base in Germany .

Ramstein is the most important US Air Force stronghold in Germany and the largest air force base in Europe.

The US ambassador to Germany, Richard Grenell, said earlier that by 2020, the United States would deploy an additional unit of some 1,500 military personnel in Germany US military may take Iraq base to launch operations inside SyriaTrump's visit to the US air base in Germany after his visit to US forces in Iraq on Wednesday, the occasion of Christmas , his first visit to the conflict area after almost two years of his presidency, and days after the announcement of the withdrawal of US troops from Syria .

Trump's visit to Iraq lasted about three and a half hours, during which he congratulated American soldiers there for Christmas, took with them commemorative photographs, and confirmed that he had no plans to withdraw his troops from Iraq.

Trump said that "Iraq can be used as a base if we want to do something in Syria," defending his decision to withdraw US troops from Syria after the defeat of the "Daash," he said.

The visit of the American president to the base of "Ain al-Assad" in Anbar province in western Iraq, and his statements on the possibility of using Iraq as a base for the operations of its forces in Syria, a wide debate among the Iraqi political forces, especially that he did not meet with any of the Iraqi officials.
