Formation of a joint committee to pay dues to Iran

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Finance Minister Fuad Hussein announced on Thursday the formation of an Iraqi-Iranian technical committee to pay Tehran's dues to Baghdad through the purchase of electricity and gas.
"In his office in Baghdad, Hussein received Beijing Zangana, Iran's oil minister and his delegation," the office said in a statement. "The meeting reviewed trade and economic relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran for the benefit of the two friendly peoples."
The two sides discussed "the best ways and solutions to pay Iranian dues to Iraq through the purchase of electricity and gas, and agreed to form a specialized technical committee of the two parties in this field," adding that "the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Iraq and the President of Sumo in the Ministry of Oil Iraqi director general of the Department of Public Debt in the Ministry of Finance and adviser Salem Chalabi attended the meeting.
