Iraq welcomes the appointment of a new President of the Supreme Council of the judiciary

Centre for alarakial media network (IMN)-I returned the Iraqi list, the
decision taken by the judiciary to appoint a new judge to the Supreme
Judicial Council, a positive step towards strengthening the independence
of the judiciary and resolve the issue of duplication of positions
within the main authority in the country.

al-mutlaq, for (IMN) that "the past period overlapping positions within
the judiciary judge Medhat Al Mahmoud when he was Chairman of the
Council of Justice and the Court of appeal and the Federal Court is
without opening the door to more waltauilat political differences in
this area which affected the Justice who believes everyone should be
independent and fair."
"The success of the House of
representatives passed the law on the Council of the judiciary despite
political differences is a victory for the political process and a
solution to the issue was a central point of disagreement between
everyone," adding that "the appointment of a new judge in charge of
eliminating a step in the right direction that would put an end to all
views and positions that would mix the leaves while the parent is that
everyone works in order to have an independent judiciary which political
influence."
The Supreme Judicial Council had recently announced
the entry into force of the law on the Supreme Council of the judiciary
after publishing in the Official Gazette and the ratification by the
President.
Under this law, judge Hassan has been appointed
Chairman of nouman Supreme Judicial Council judge Medhat Mahmoud while
retaining his position as President of the Cassation Court.
