Minister: Egypt develops 6 refineries over four years at a cost of $ 9 billion
Egypt is working to develop six refineries over the next four years at a cost of $ 9 billion to boost domestic production, the Egyptian oil minister said.
Minister Tariq al-Mulla, speaking at a conference late on Sunday, did not elaborate on the provision of funds for development.
"The aim of the development is to increase local production of petroleum products to 41 million tons per year," Mulla said.
Egypt has eight refineries with a production capacity of 38 million tons per year.
