Twilight News / 600 US troops arrived in Syria to help and secure the process of withdrawal of the US military from the north of the country.
According to local sources in Syria, US soldiers arrived at the airport of the bases "Kharab Ashak" and "two" east of the Euphrates River.
US troops are being deployed between the bases to be used for evacuations.
The US bases in Rumailan and Tel Baidar in the province of Hasaka will be used to transport heavy equipment through the air.
Last Thursday, a US official said the Pentagon would send additional troops to Syria and that the aim was to secure the withdrawal of US troops from there.
"I assure you of the information that the Pentagon has sent additional troops to Syria to secure troops and equipment during the withdrawal process," the official, who declined to be named, told Anatolia.
On December 19, 2018, US President Donald Trump announced his intention to withdraw his 2,000-strong troops from the Syrian north.
The Pentagon declined to comment officially on the matter, but its spokesman, Sean Robertson, said that "the process of withdrawal of US troops from north-east Syria goes according to the stated framework."
He explained in a press statement that the withdrawal process will be conducted in a manner commensurate with the circumstances on the ground, in coordination with allies and partners of the United States, stressing that the process will not be tied to a random timetable. Keywords: http://www.shafaaq.com/ar/Ar_NewsReader/63a3701e-7dfa-424a-9b0d-3ff63ec91775
