(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) An official at the Ministry of Finance, the government is considering an important decision on agricultural land, which turned into a residential.
The State Real Estate Department, affiliated to the Ministry of Finance, recommended the return of all agricultural lands that were not exploited for the ministry to be disposed of, while revealing the readiness of the army chiefs to provide detachments to accompany and protect the committees to lift abuses.
"The last few days have witnessed a meeting under the patronage of Baghdad Mayor Zekri Allouche to discuss the phenomenon of the bulldozing of agricultural lands and orchards. The problems that led to illegal razing by illegal gangs have been raised," the director of the department, Eng. Ahmed al-Rubaie, said in a press statement.
He added that "the meeting resulted in the preparation of recommendations developed by the relevant bodies such as the Secretariat of Baghdad and the departments of state real estate, land and property in the Ministry of Agriculture, to be submitted to the Council of Ministers to obtain approval to reduce this phenomenon, which has recently expanded,
Al-Rubaie explained that "among the recommendations to the Prime Minister, the solution of all agricultural land, which has the rights of banking and not exploited for the purposes of (Amireya exchange) agricultural and animal, and return to the Ministry of Finance to act in accordance with the laws in force and benefit from them in the best manner.
He pointed out that "among the recommendations raised address the situation of agricultural land and orchards, which resolved the status and converted housing and was divided and the construction of units in a systematic manner after the approval of its design by the Secretariat of Baghdad and the municipal departments and non-objection to the process of conversion and residential ownership.
He added that "the recommendations also include directing the security forces to the ground, not to allow the machinery and equipment for the destruction of orchards and agricultural land, except with the approval of the Secretariat of Baghdad and the Department of Agriculture, noting that the meeting was the result of the widespread phenomenon of agricultural land and orchards and the negative consequences resulting therefrom.
The Director of the Real Estate Department of the State expressed the readiness of the Army Chief of Staff to support the work of the Real Estate Department by providing detachments to accompany and protect the committees to lift the violations, noting that this action came after a meeting between Finance Minister Fouad Hussein and Army Chief of Staff Othman Al-Ghanami. Exceeding the maximum period of ten days from the date of their notification and otherwise the legal proceedings will be taken against them. "
