    Information / Baghdad ..
The parliamentary foreign relations committee on Saturday called on the government to reconsider the recent economic agreement with Jordan on the abolition of customs of most Jordanian goods, noting that these measures contribute to the rise of the Iraqi budget deficit.
"Iraq has given an exception to Jordan through the passage of dozens of most goods and service goods to Iraq without the collection of customs, which will lead to the damage of the Iraqi economy significantly," said Amer al-Fayez, a member of the committee.
Fayez added that "the government program includes taking new economic measures to promote the agricultural, industrial and commercial reality of the country, but the agreement with Jordan is contrary to those trends."
He added that "Jordan can not grant all these concessions the prospect of a security agreement and the exchange of information with them in exchange for the extension of oil pipeline and the reduction in the price of oil exported to it as well as the abolition of the customs duties of its goods," calling on the government to "reconsider that agreement and formulation according to the highest interests of the country as it will contribute In raising the budget deficit.
