Gold prices fell on Monday as risk aversion eased amid signs of progress in US-China trade talks, while the strong dollar continued to press the precious metal.
Spot gold fell 0.4 percent to $ 1313.01 an ounce by 0552 GMT, after hitting its highest level since April 26 at $ 1326.30 on Thursday.
Gold fell 0.4 percent to $ 1317.3 an ounce.
The US dollar is nearing a one-week high against the yen on strong US job data, Reuters reported.
Despite signs of strong economic growth, there is widespread speculation that the Federal Reserve will keep interest rates stable this year, mainly due to growing concerns about global growth, especially in China and Europe.
On the other precious metals, palladium has not changed in spot transactions, recording $ 1350 an ounce.
Both silver and platinum fell 0.6 percent to record silver at $ 15.80 an ounce and platinum at $ 817
