The Information Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a statement that "Halabousi, visited the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad, to congratulate on the anniversary of the Iranian National Day."
The statement added that "Al Halbusi, during the visit, met with the Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad, Irj Masjdi, blessed the Islamic Republic of Iran its national holiday, and wished the Iranian people and the government further progress."
He pointed out that "the meeting discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, ways to strengthen them in the interest of the two friendly peoples, and emphasize the need for positive contribution at various levels to achieve stability in the region."
He stressed Halbusi, "Iraq's keenness to open with his neighbors and the countries of the region and the world, and that his relations according to the principle of mutual interests."
