Erdogan calls on Iraq to join the Astana negotiations

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday that Iraq and Lebanon could join Russia, Turkey and Iran in Astana negotiations for a Syrian settlement.
"The Astana negotiations are continuing as an additional process for the Geneva negotiations under the auspices of the United Nations," Erdogan said in statements carried by Al-Maaloumah. "We do not consider Astana an alternative to Geneva despite the failure of the Geneva process."
"We can also invite Iraq and Lebanon to our negotiations because these two countries have common borders with Syria," Erdogan said
