Abdul Mahdi: We are serious about openness to Kuwait

Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said on Thursday that Iraq is serious about openness to Kuwait, calling for hard work to build the best relations according to the many participants and mutual trust.
"The Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, received at the government palace today, Speaker of the National Assembly of Kuwait Marzouq Ali al-Ghanim, and the delegation accompanying him," the office of Abdul Mahdi said in a statement received by the agency.
"We look forward with pride to our distinguished relations with Kuwait and we are confident that the future of Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations will be better and we look forward to growing in line with the level of brotherly relations between the two countries and peoples," he said.
He added: "We are serious about openness to Kuwait and at the same time establish excellent relations with all in accordance with our clear vision and our common interests with our surroundings and neighboring countries, and should proceed with the development of Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations and overcome the obstacles and effects of the past and the remnants of dictatorship policies," calling for " Best relations according to the many participants and mutual trust. "
For his part, the Speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, expressed his country's keen desire to increase cooperation and expand economic relations and to resolve all outstanding issues and overcome the challenges that delay the growth of relations between the two countries.
Al-Ghanim stressed Kuwait's keenness on the security, unity and stability of Iraq, looking forward to a prosperous future for the two countries' relations and activating the work of the Higher Ministerial Committee between the two countries to follow up their work and contribute to building solid cooperative relations.
