BAGHDAD / The General Authority of the Iraqi Customs, Sunday, received at its headquarters in Baghdad the Director of the Regional Office for Capacity Building and Development of North Africa and the Near and Middle East of the World Customs Organization, Murad Arfaoui, and was received by Munther Asad, Director General of the Commission.
"The visit of the World Customs Organization (WCO) is the first of its kind and comes within the framework of developing and modernizing the work of the Iraqi Customs and for the purpose of identifying the obstacles to the work and then developing strategic plans to raise the level of performance of the Commission," the agency said in a statement.
"The agenda of Arfaoui began a meeting with the Director General of the Commission and a group of Iraqi customs experts to discuss the objectives of the mission and the tools of the diagnosis of the World Customs Organization of customs administrations around the world.
"Arfaoui presented several ideas related to the development of human resources to be based on efficiency and in accordance with the context of the Organization in the development of appropriate solutions and start to develop recommendations to be adopted in the preparation of a strategic plan for development and modernization."
The Commission is working with the World Customs Organization to prepare a comprehensive strategic plan to develop the human capabilities of the employees and develop the training system and linking them efficiently with the presentation that the recommendations of workshops and field survey will be implemented in the form of projects.
