The three presidencies in Iraq on Friday held a meeting that included the President of the Republic Barham Salih, Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammed Halbusi.

A statement issued by the Presidency of the Republic that "the meeting discussed the tragic sinking of the ferry in the Tigris River in the city of Mosul and the death and wounding dozens of innocent people, as well as discuss the situation in the city in general."

He added that the participants in the meeting agreed on the need to adopt all means and legal procedures to address the local mismanagement in the province and address the security file and strengthen the role of security forces and increase their capabilities, as well as improving the economic situation of the city.

The statement stressed that the participants stressed "the follow-up of urgent judicial procedures to hold accountable those who failed and cause this tragic disaster and address the repercussions that caused this incident and not allow to repeat it."

The statement added that the participants in the meeting "stressed the compensation of victims' families and their fairness and meet their demands."
